Year in Review

The kids sing a little song they learned at school about the months of the year. January, February, March and April.... That song is playing in my mind as I think about how best to start up the blog again. So many months have gone by without any posts or photos that I feel overwhelmed sitting down to write. I have allowed my once beloved creative outlet to morph into a source of dread and guilt. Time to face my fears and reclaim something I loved and looked forward to doing for so long. Wish me luck!
Here are some of the highlights of the last 9 months...

Yes Izzey - Happy Birthday to YOU!
MARCH - Izzey turns 5 with a Rainbow Birthday Party that Mommy spent WAY too much time planning!

APRIL - I visited my dearest friend Joanna and her family in Austin.  Definitely "Keep Austin Weird" but don't let it get as weird Seattle!

Judith and Joanna - 20 years after the fateful trip to SMU

MAY - Day trip up to Suncadia with Grandad and Grandma Purse gives us hope that summer is coming soon.

Suncadia fun just an hour east of us

JUNE - June was a big month.  Izzey "graduated" from a rigorous 2 year preschool curriculum ;).  Ian celebrated his 3rd birthday with a bouncy house party in our backyard.  Then,we all fell head over heels for our visitors, Kath and Ian, from England.  Izzey was especially smitten with Ian who possesses a variety of talents including magic and Irish dancing!

JULY - Marc and I participated in the Relay for Life to raise money for cancer research. Thank you to our friends that donated to our cause - we raised almost $1500 for our team.

AUGUST - Summer finally arrived.  We enjoyed trips to the spray park, outings at the beach park, parades with friends, the Boeing Classic, and fun at Fox Hollow Farms.  Five and three are great ages to take the kids out for fun. We've finally tipped the scales to it's more fun than work to go!   The rest of August was spent at our neighborhood park with friends.  Did I mention Izzey learned to ride a two wheeler?  What a rock star!

SEPTEMBER - The brightest highlight of the month was Charlotte's visit to see us.  Izzey and Ian played with   chased Charlotte around for days and loved every minute of it.  Thanks to unseasonably warm weather, Izzey took a soccer class and showed of her fancy footwork.  Those skills obviously must skip a generation!  Also noteworthy, Izzey started kindergarten and Ian started preschool.

OCTOBER - Bye bye summer.  The first part of the month consisted of trips from one pumpkin patch to the next.  The second part of the month we spent time in Chicago visiting friends and family and celebrating Jason and Terri's beautiful wedding.

Ahhhhhh!  I feel so much better being caught up!  Thank you!
